December, January and February are the coldest months of the year. On the coldest days, thermometers do not exceed 0ºC. Average maximum temperatures range between 5 and 7ºC.
If you visit the city in winter, you are sure to see some snowfall!

In June, July and August, minimum temperatures in Amsterdam range between 10 and 12ºC, reaching maximum temperatures of 20 and 22ºC. This season also sees the lowest levels of precipitation.
Because of the pleasant temperature and because, at this time of year, many people enjoy their vacations, in summer (especially in August) the streets are packed with people, at all times of the day!

Despite the high number of tourists and high season hotel prices, its pleasant temperatures make summer our favorite season to travel to Amsterdam.

Business hours in Amsterdam
Store hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, while on Saturdays it is normally 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Most stores close on Sundays.
Some tourist and downtown areas, such as the Red Quarter and the canal environs, close a few minutes later due to the large influx of tourists. Many stores are open on Thursdays until 9 or 10 p.m., as it is the national shopping day.
Museums in the Dutch capital open at 09:00 and close at 17:00 or 18:00. Major museums extend their hours on one day of the week, so you are advised to plan your visits with the specific hours of the exhibition centers in mind.

The currency in effect in the Netherlands is the Euro.
HOW TO GET TO AMSTERDAM
How to reach the center of Amsterdam from Schiphol Airport (15km from the city)?
Train: This is the fastest and cheapest way to reach the center of Amsterdam.
Trains continuously depart from Schiphol and take between 15 and 20 minutes to get to Central Station. The ticket price is €4.20 and you will have to pay an additional €1 for the card (Smart Card).
Bus: It takes longer and is a more expensive means of transportation. Therefore, it is only recommended for those who want to reach a specific place in Amsterdam.
Cab: The price from the airport to downtown hotels is about 50€.
